A VERY FINE, and STUNNING Meissen LARGE coffeepot and original cover, C. It is very large for such an early piece, as pre 1760 Meissen coffeepots are mostly much smaller. The purple highlights also tell me this is an early one, and not after C. Just like the brown rims on plates etc. It is a full 9 3/4 ins high by about 6 1/2 ins across. The stunning yellow ground also takes this into the finer pieces category. Fully marked to the underside of the base with the very early feint blue crossed swords marks. I also believe that I can see a very feint Dreyhers mark of an x to the inside of the footrim. This has been re-stuck very professionally, and almost invisibly without restorers spray by a person who works for a London museum.
