This plane is impressed with NORRIS A5 LONDON PATENT ADJUSTABLE to the lever, NORRIS LONDON to the blade, NORRIS LONDON PATENT No. 11526-13 to the adjusting nut and STEEL to the front of the dovetailed sole. The infill could be either ebony or rosewood, it retains its original lacquer finish and the second owners stamp, one W Casey. The brass work is in excellent condition and retains ninety percent of its lacquer finish, all the mechanical parts work well. This early first patent example is new to the market having been carefully stored away for many years, its in very good original condition, it`s suitable for use and worthy of any collection of antique carpentry tools.
