IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE Original 1946 Magazine Ads, C8.5 Very Fine to Near Mint
These are the original magazine pages (2) of advertisements for the 1946 movie IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE. They were used to promote the film when it was released by. They are not reprints nor reproductions and each page has images of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE on both sides of the page. We do not know exactly which magazine that these 2 original pages were obtained from, but there are a number of magazines referenced in one of these 2 advertisements (see photos 11 and 12). These 2 pages may have come from one of those magazines. The movie stars James Stewart, Donna Reed, Henry Travers, Lionel Barrymore , Thomas Mitchell, Gloria Grahame, and Frank Faylen. IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE was directed by Frank Capra. These unrestored magazine pages are Flat (neither Folded nor Rolled) and will be mailed Flat. Each of the pages measures 9" x 12". These original magazine advertisement pages are graded C8.5, or Very Fine to Near Mint. The original magazine pages are graded just like Original movie posters, which from the top down are C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Very Good to Very Fine), C6 (Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), etc. The only flaw that exists on both pages are the tiny holes on the edge of one border of each page where the page had been attached or bound with all of the other magazine pages and then carefully removed, avoiding tearing and rips. They are very similar to "pin holes" that are found on original movie posters. These tiny holes are difficult to see as most of them are right at the edge of the border where darkish background tends to hide them. A few tiny holes are found about 1/4 inward from the edge, but even these are unobtrusive to the beautiful and iconic images found on these pages. We believe that these original 2 magazine advertisement pages have some, if not very good, investment value.
But on the other hand, after over 70 years since 1946, these original magazine pages have become movie memorabilia just like original movie posters. Obviously, these pages are not even close to being as valuable as their counterpart original movie posters, but these magazine pages are probably much rarer than the One Sheets of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE , with rarity being one driving force of "value".
And although some of the images on these magazine pages are the same as the original movie posters, other images of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE found on these 2 original magazine pages are hard to find anywhere else in the market place - although they may be out there. As such, we have tried to reasonably price these original movie memorabilia items for this truly iconic movie. If you have any questions, please contact me.
