THE LEOPARD MAN Original 1943 Movie Poster, 27 x 41, C8.5 Very Fine/Near Mint

This is the original (1sh) movie poster THE LEOPARD MAN. It was used to promote the film in theatres when it was released by. It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.

The movie stars Dennis O'Keefe, Margo, Jean Brooks, Isabel Jewell, Marguerite Sylva, and Abner Biberman. It was directed by Jacques Tourneur and produced by Val Lewton. Normally I don't list the Producer, but in this case since Val Lweton is a personal favorite of mine, I just had to. The movie poster is Rolled and linen backed. The poster measures 27" x 41". The poster was rolled once it was linen backed. With the linen backing, it now measures 29.40" x 43". This poster was originally Folded. Almost all original movie posters pre 1985 are Folded.

This is not considered a flaw or defect. This Restored movie poster is graded C8.5, or Very Fine to Near Mint. This grade is generally the highest grade a restored original movie poster can receive. Original movie posters are graded, from the top down, as C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Very Good to Very Fine), C6 (Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), etc. It is difficult to find any C10 (Mint) original movie posers pre 1985.

Originally, prior to restoration the poster was graded a C6.5, Fine Plus. Restoration corrected some scratches in the image area, and included touchup to the fold lines and pinholes. THE LEOPARD MAN original movie poster now displays amazingly and beautifully horrific. This original poster is ready for framing and display immediately.

The very minor flaws - after restoration - noted above are not visible unless one does a very close inspection of the poster. At a very short viewing distance, the poster appears flawless with solid dark colors and superb detail of the images. We believe that the original 1943 poster THE LEOPARD MAN has excellent investment value. Fans and collectors alike of classic horror original movie posters, or of Jacques Touneur or Val Lewton, will always place the original movie poster THE LEOPARD MAN in high demand.

The high graded condition of the poster of C8.5 Very Fine to Near Mint adds to its investment value. While the linen backing assists in ensuring the continued longevity of the poster in this high grade. THE LEOPARD MAN has the dark, errie look to it - the same way that Val Lewton produced all of his movies.

Note: The corners are held down by weights which is what you see in the photos. The corners of the poster and the linen, as well as the edges all around are in excellent condition.
