This is the Original (1sh) movie poster THE SPIDER. To promote this movie when it was released in 1945.

It is not a reprint nor a reproduction. The movie stars Richard Conte, Faye Marlowe, Kurt Kreuger, John Harvey , Martin Kosleck, Mantan Moreland, Walter Sande, Cara Williams, Charles Tannen, Ann Savage, and Jean Del Val.

It was directed by Robert D. This restored movie poster had been Folded. It is now rolled and linen backed and measures 28.25" x 42". The poster itself measures 27" x 41".

Most original movie posters pre 1985 are Folded. This is not considered a flaw or defect. This original movie poster is graded C8.5, Very Fine/Near Mint. Original movie posters are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc. The pre-restoration grade was C6.5 Fine Plus. Restoration has corrected tears, creases, minor stains, small crossfold chips, edge and fold wear, and some fold separation. The poster was also linen backed, making for a permanent seal on the restoration, a solid poster, which will also make framing and display that much easier. This poster has a very clean appearance and is immediately ready for framing and display.

The colors are very rich, deep and dark. And the details of the actors and the images are superb. We also believe that the original movie poster THE SPIDER (1945) has excellent investment value, which is aided by the high grade (Very Fine/Near Mint) and condition of this poster. We have not seen many originals of THE SPIDER , and this original will certainly be a welcome and rare addition to any original movie poster collection.
