Very fine silver dial fusee watch 1848 full service perfect working order

  

Gents early Victorian London made fusee pocket watch in excellent state of preservation. Signed by Peter Martin of Glasgow. Watchmaker & jeweler at 72 Argyle Street during the Victorian period. The English Lever movement in beautiful condition with unmarked screws, bright steelwork and flawless mercurial gilding.

Gold balance and diamond endstone. Original balance staff: note the balance cock isn't bent down, a sure sign of shoddy repair.

Fully serviced by a BHI qualified watchmaker, keeping very good time and running well in all positions. Nicely engraved silver dial with gold numerals. Dial with a light scratch at 6 o'clock visible when the dial is tilted towards the light see photo. Original silver case with hallmarks for 1848. Case with very light wear, closing tight and springing open on pressing the button in the pendant.

Fine blued steel hands also in. Perfect domed mineral glass crystal. Serviced and ready to wear. A beautiful example of this fancy dial watch, always more popular in Scotland than in England.
